I'm out of here... Don't rush me!

In honor of my birthday, each year I take the month of November to really kick the shit out of myself for everything I expected to be by now, regret all of the mistakes I've made, and wallow in self pity. For a few years it was like a full month of PMS. I was miserable and I liked it that way. Then I got sick of myself. It happens.

This year though, things are going to be a bit different. Why? Because I won't be celebrating it. No, I haven't gotten to the point where I have decided to stop getting older. I'll save that for next year when I am 39 and holding. I am not celebrating it because I won't be here. Where am I going? I really don't know.

1. What I WANTED to do won't work date-wise. Instead I'm checking cheap flights. Maybe Orlando? Vegas? Chicago?

2. I can't go far because I owe my soul to the company store. I have taken a bit of time off already this year for vacations and family. If I quit my job today there might be a bill instead of a paycheck in that final envelope.

3. I love my friends and family, but I really just need to get away from my regular life for a few days.

So I'm planning an escape from the every day. I am rewarding myself for being a good girl, for not freaking out, for breaking the birthday pattern, and c'mon, like Loreal says, "I'm worth it."

PS. If I come back smiling like the next contestant on The Price Is Right... Just mind your business!

Chicago- For the life of me I can't explain why I love this place. It's cold and wet in the winter. They don't do shit for street maintenance or sidewalk maintenance when it comes to the ice. I do not understand it at all. Maybe that's what makes it so right?

Orlando- I have some friends I could see here. The temps won't be as frigid as they will be here. That alone could sell me on it. I might be getting too old to recover from the hangover that would most certainly result.

Vegas- Warm, gambling, drinks, what happens there stays there...Vegas is a total whore of a city. It's garish, brazen, and still sexy. It seems like it might be the obvious birthday choice. Too obvious? hmmmm

All three of my choices look like flashy hookers ready to do whatever you want for $100 baby. I think Orlando just touched me in a no-no place.

(side note: Today's date is 11/1/11. There is no significance. Just sayin...)

South Africa : Infinitely cheaper, adoring fans and friends everywhere like rice at a Chinese wedding, and undoubtably the most fun you can have with your clothes on, or off.

Your list has a glaring omission.
NEW YORK BABY! or as Frank sang it, NEW YORK NEW YORK

If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

I'm with the above, go for New York, get some Christmas shopping done.

I like the subtle reference to 16 tons. For me, it'd be Vegas - a great place to get your birthday on. Happy Birthday month!

Lately, I've been avoiding vacations where you end up more tired than when you started.

Vegas would probably be off the table in that case...Congrats!

My first choice is Orlando... always wanted to go to Florida(US). But hey, this is not my vacation :D I'm sure you'll have a blast no matter where you decide to go... :)

I l-o-v-e Chicago. It just has such a "yeah we're too humid in the summer and in the winter you're my bitch but you know I'm still a fucking rock-star" bravado that is irresistible. And Lou Malnati's pizza is reason enough to visit that 'toddlin' town'.

Lucky Orlando! That would definitely be my choice: birds and gorillas go south in the winter.

Getting away for a little while is always a fabulous idea! And it doesn't matter where - just someplace where you can relax and be alone for a bit!

San Francisco baby. Cold, big city charm, great scenery, amazing food... I have lots of recommendations. It's easy to fly into, public transportation is pretty good too. I took the BART to and from SFO, it's $16 bucks round trip.

Happy Birthday month to you......WHOO HOOO

I vote Orlando, in fact, I vote you go to Orlando with me AND Azra. we can start to tie one on at the airport. If Azra wont drink then we will have to alternate drinking for her. Azra, I'm sorry. If you wont drink with us then you are the designated "herder!" Ha!

Angie, you should go be on the Price is Right! Why? Because, you are worth it!

@LCG - I've got enough crazy for three people without the Alcohol, the world doesn't need a drunk version of me getting arrested LOL!
Really wouldn't mind being the herder :D

Well, whatever you decide to do or have already done, all I can say is Angie, You're Worth It. I can totally understand you'd want to go somewhere, and if Chicago makes you happy for reasons none of us understand, so be it. Whatever puts a smile on your face.

I vote for Vegas! Either way I want some pictures posted! :)

Beautiful new layout, here, Baby.

I'm lucky. I hate days off. I hate vacations. Except that Tessa knows I treasure a two-hour vacation in the back yard with old Jim Beam.

I would LOVE to go to SA. That flight would actually eat my entire long weekend though. LOL

NYC was on my list initially. If the flight was cheaper it would be a hell yes!

Tony Van Helsing,
I know! Like I said... too expensive and I'm a bit afraid I might get lost on my own!

Great song and very fitting! If we had a company store I'd probably truly be screwed.

I agree... I've never come home from Vegas feeling rested. Tired, broke, and a glad I didn't see anyone I knew, YES!

We'd better get on the same wave length one of these days. Otherwise I'll end up in SA looking for you while you're toodling around the FL coast!

I think that's part of it's charm too. It's a big f*ck you to tourists and you have to respect Chicago's balls, right?

I'm starting to lean toward Orlando myself :)

I'm so ready! Just an escape from the daily grind would be awesome!

I was just out there in Aug! I do love Haight, but I think I need to go East this time. I am even taking Vegas off the list!

Azra would keep us out of trouble? DOUBT IT. She might be sober... but I have a feeling she might instigate!

I know right!?

Chicago at Christmas is cold as hell but the downtown is so glittery it makes me warm inside. :) I might have to wait until they at least decorate for the holiday.

I will do my best to take pics and if nudity occurs I will do my best not to be IN said pics!

Thanks hon! I am a gypsy at heart. I don't mind 2 hour vacays but I'd never stay put if I didn't have these bills.
